Kirsi’s Winter Hat – Complete!

I did it!  Eva and Kirsi have matching winter hats! Well, except for the color, that is.

Edited 019Edited 024I used the same pattern and made Kirsi’s a tad smaller than Eva’s. Kirsi refused to model it for me, so Eva stepped in.  I can always count on her to get in front of the camera.

I hope Kirsi warms up to it over the next month.  If she doesn’t, Eva will end up with two winter hats, which I sure she won’t mind. 🙂

Eva’s Christmas Dress – Complete!

I finally finished Eva’s Christmas Dress.  The knitting has been done for a while, but Ronan’s birth and a knee injury forced me to put off the blocking/buttoning/photographing process.  I managed to sneak outside for a few minutes today to take some pictures, so I’m feeling pretty darn accomplished. 🙂

Edited 005Edited 006Edited 018I made a number of modifications, all of which are listed on my Ravelry project page.  I did find an error in the pattern, which I addressed in my project notes.

For this lovely dress I used Malabrigo Sock in “Ivy” and size 6 and 4 needles.  As usual, my gauge was way off, but I think the dress will fit Eva without issue.  I haven’t made her try it on, yet, so I can’t say for sure.

I used three “diamond” buttons on the front, which I think makes the dress appropriate for both Christmas and everyday wear.  Eva wanted me to put ladybug buttons on it, but we compromised, and I’ll be adorning her winter hat with ladybug buttons shortly. 🙂

Ronan was born October 4th, 2014 at 8:24pm, weighing 7 lbs and measuring 19.25 inches. 😀

Due to some complications (suspected cholestasis), I was induced three weeks early.  Thankfully, I was able to have my second VBAC and didn’t have to recover from major surgery while caring for three kids under three.

Knitting has been next to nonexistent over the past couple of weeks, so this post will have to tide you over until I can get back to being productive!
