My Peanut is Growing!

Today Eva took a trip to her pediatrician’s office for a check up.  I have mixed feelings about check ups.  I used to get really excited about taking her because I got to find out how much she grew and how she was developing.  Now that we’ve hit the bulk of the shots-included check ups, I’m beginning to dread them.  I have a *really* hard time watching her get shots.  It’s even harder when she needs to get multiple shots, which has been the case for the past few appointments.  It’s supposed to taper off at this point, though.  The pediatrician said she needs one shot at her next appointment and one more at the appointment after that.  Whew!

So, besides getting three shots, we learned that Eva now weighs 19.5 pounds and measures 28.5 inches.  That puts her in the 1st percentile for height and the 18th for weight.  I was very relieved to hear the pediatrician say that these measurements were perfect, as I’ve heard from more than one “concerned” person that she may be overweight.  She totally isn’t!  She was just blessed with a very round belly!  (Most babies carry their weight in their arms and legs.  Eva has skinny arms and legs, but her belly makes up for it.)  She is hitting all of her milestones, and she now has 9 teeth.  🙂

I don’t have a picture of Eva from today to share, but I do have a picture that was taken last Friday.

Eva goes to her Grammy’s workplace most Fridays for lunch.  Above is a picture of her “ooooing” at a computer mouse.  She likes to click and type furiously.  Doing so works up an appetite, from what I understand.  She also likes to “file” papers, “retrieve” catalogues, and “relocate” magnets.  The girl’s gotta earn her keep!
