I’ve made it to the decreases! In a short while, this thing will be a bonafide hat!
I’m in a rush to finish because my box of Knit Picks yarn came AND I picked up some cheapy (well, not as cheap as I would’ve liked) acrylic at the new Hobby Lobby that just opened up a few towns over from mine. My Uncle loves the minions from Despicable Me, and I found a minion hat pattern on Ravelry, so I want to make Eva and him matching minion hats. I didn’t take pictures of my Hobby Lobby loot, but I’ll try to snap some shots of the minion hat stuff before I begin. I also picked up some stuffing to have on hand to make Eva toys now that she’s so grabby.
I did take pictures of my Knit Picks stuff. I thought you might like a little yarn porn. 🙂
I hope to knock out the minion hats super quick since Eva is in dire need of “real” hats that fit, and I won’t allow myself to start any until more pressing projects are completed. (Look at me! A monogamous knitter!) She outgrew the cute hat I made for her before she was born. It sort of just sits on top of her head in a cone shape.
As for an update on Eva, she had her 4 month check-up yesterday. She now weighs 11 lbs 4 oz and measures 22.5 inches long. She is in the 10th percentile for weight and the 4th for height. She’s pretty petite, but she’s growing normally. Daddy is a little surprised that Eva is so small. He (along with his siblings) were huge babies. In fact, Eva weighs less than a pound more than her Uncle JJ did when he was born!
Unfortunately, Miss Eva got some shots, too. I don’t handle those well. Neither does Aunt Rae, apparently, because she ran as soon as she saw the nurse take out the needles. Eva handled her shots better this time around and required no Tylenol. 🙂
We’ll go back for another check-up in 2 months AND have an x-ray done on her hips at CHOP to completely rule out hip dysplasia. She’s moving her legs normally, though, so I don’t expect any bad news. 🙂
