Wedding Garter – Fourth Update

I’ve been seriously slacking.  I just got around to blocking my wedding garter.  I still haven’t bought the casing for the elastic, but I plan to get it this week.  The garter measures 22 inches.

Wedding Garter – Third Update

The knitting portion of my garter is complete!  I don’t have any good pictures to share, but I’ll post one as soon as I get this thing on the blocking board.

The finishing may last up until the day before the wedding, but at least I get to work on a different project!

Hurricane Hat

I threw an extra project into the mix (because that’s exactly what I need) that I haven’t mentioned.  It’s called the Hurricane Hat, and I made it for my aunt who was recently diagnosed with lung cancer.  She is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatments and has lost all of her hair, so I’m hoping this hat will help her feel more like herself.

Isn’t the swirl cool?

I knit this hat with Lion Brand Cotton-Ease yarn in “Lake” and size 8 needles. I followed the directions exactly. The decreasing at the crown got a little confusing since the beginning of the row kept shifting, so I wouldn’t recommend this project for a beginner. Other than that, the hat was a quick and easy knit. I hope she likes it!
